Edward Boateng-Addo is a senior associate at at n. dowuona & company. He is an accomplished advocate with a wealth of experience representing clients involved in complicated and serious disputes. His practical approach to case analyses and problem solving makes him the “go to lawyer” and a formidable opponent in the courtroom.
Prior to qualifying at the Ghana Bar, he practiced at the Bar of England and Wales for over 12 years. His portfolio of cases span a broad spectrum of legal issues ranging from shareholder disputes, VAT fraud and enforcing debentures. Specifically, he has represented a client involved in a shareholder dispute over a well established family company. The central issue concerned an application for just and equitable winding up of the company. Edward has also advised an international digital media company (acting as co-counsel with DLA Piper (UK)) in International arbitration proceedings in an action against the Government of Ghana in a dispute involving termination for convenience clauses. He has represented a major oil and gas exploration company, in a dispute concerning unlawful interference with contracts and inducing third parties to breach a contract.
Prior to establishing his litigation practice Edward was the head advocate at Howe & Solicitors (the UK’s largest human rights firm) where he was instrumental in developing the advocacy department. Edward obtained his LLB from London Guildhall University and is admitted to practice law in Ghana and the United Kingdom. He is also member of the Honourable Society of the Middle Temple in the UK.
